Students Ecstatic After Musicality ShowcaseOn Saturday 4th February 2017 two musical groups from Sir John Hunt took part in Musicality, a showcase of some of the best music from Plymouth schools, which was held on the main stage at Plymouth Pavilions.
The 6th Form Rockschool group, consisting of Jasmine Lowe, Josh Smith and (co-opted Year 10) Sam Rafton took to the stage in the afternoon, playing songs from Solange, Tame Impala and Amy Winehouse. The Year 11 Rockschool group, comprising of Liam Dart, Tyler Hobden, Chloe Niedelzki and Noah Whiting played their set in the evening slot. They played songs from Chris Isaak, Nirvana and Joy Division.
Both groups made a fantastic impression on the audience and other schools. Organiser Barrie Mills (from the Plymouth Music Hub) sent us this message: "Your two bands were excellent and really broadened the range of genres we were able to offer. They really connected with the audience".
As the pictures show, our students had the real experience of performing at a proper venue, complete with amazing lights, sound and even their own dressing room. They were quite ecstatic after their performances, and chatting with their parents and friends afterwards was incredibly rewarding.
