PLE Keeping Safe Conference 2017

PLE Keeping Safe Conference 2017

On Wednesday 18th January our Level 3 Sixth Form students attended a conference along with our PLE partner schools, Tor Bridge High, Lipson Cooperative Academy and All Saints Academy Plymouth which was held at UCP Marjons. The students from all four schools gathered together to find out more about how to ensure personal safety in our ever changing society.

Students attended key note speeches about health and nutrition, domestic violence and the dangers of radicalisation before going to the ‘market place’ where they could find out extra information regarding online safety, safe sex, mental health issues and excercise to name a few!

Students are now equipped to recognise when they might find themselves in unsafe situations and know who to contact should these issues arise. Students will now choose one area of importance to them and follow this up with wider research throughout the tutorial programmes in their own schools.

We hope that they put into practice what they have learned and manage to always stay safe. If you would like any more information on this event or on any of the issues covered, we would be happy to provide you with any contacts or information you may need.
