Girls' FootballWednesday 23rd November was the first round of football fixtures for our under 16 girls' team. The city-wide tournament is run over 3 dates as a round robin competition at Plymstock Community College.
The girls have been training together since the start of the year and this was highlighted through their brilliant team work skills.
We played 3 matches against, All Saints, Lipson and DHSG all of which provide as tough opposition. However, the girls were full of confidence and this was shown when we scored twice in the first half, goals coming from Milly Falconer and Shakur Sandercock. Unfortunately, complacency had its place and All Saints fought back to grab a 4-2 win.
Everyone went in to the next 2 games with smiles on their faces despite the score line and really put in all their eff ort to the last second. A special mention must go to Milly Weaver who was solid in Centre Midfield and did not stop running.
