Exploring Leaf LitterYear 5 students from Woodfield Primary School have recently been inexhaustible in their enthusiasm for searching and finding a variety of invertebrates in Cornish leaf litter. The wide variety of creatures includes spiders, millipedes, centipedes, woodlice and even false scorpions. The quality of millipede has been especially astounding with some exceptionally large specimens located.
The students have been fascinated by what you can discover if you look closely enough and have shown great interest in how the organisms form a food web in the leaf litter habitat. All students were fascinated with what they found and have thoroughly enjoyed themselves during the session.
