Summer SchoolOnce again the College hosted its annual summer school, aimed at integrating the new Year 7 intake, allowing them to settle quickly and easily in the new term. The week consisted of a carousel of activities that showcased the subjects that they would be studying during Year 7. Sessions ran in music, catering, maths, outdoor and adventurous activities and PE, with students getting the chance to take part in every subject area. The students moved round the activities in their tutor groups, this enabled them to get to know their class mates early and for new friendships to be formed ready for September. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday flew by, with all the students fully engaging in all activities and having an absolute ball! On Thursday afternoon, parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles and siblings were invited to come to the College and see what their child had been up to for the first four days. Mr Cleverly had also organised some of the talented musicians in the group to perform in front of the crowd…which they did with enthusiasm and gusto. Friday saw the reward trip to Woodlands, with the weather playing its part we had a fantastic day sliding, bouncing, swinging and whooshing down and around the rides at the park. It was a fantastic week and was a great chance for staff and students to get to know each other ready for the new term.
