Enrichment Week – Football FrenzyEach day got off to an exhilarating start where our footy trainees were met by Argyle coaches at Goals soccer centre; all were fully loaded with enthusiasm and training equipment. After professional-style training sessions in the mornings delivered by the coaches, students enjoyed a lunch break followed by gruelling tournaments in the afternoons. A SJH version of the Euros saw Portugal, France, Italy, England, Germany and Belgium go head to head once more.
Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday brought about a change in weather where students showed nothing but commitment and boundless energy to their game and team mates by playing on in the rain. By Thursday, students enjoyed football-rounders and some intense cardio training, before an afternoon of matches. During Friday’s awards ceremony students enjoyed recognition for their achievements and showed true sportsmanship.
What a brilliant week! Behaviour, commitment and teamwork were at their upmost showing Argyle coaches and Goals staff what SJH footballers are made of. It’s safe to say that we had some exhausted and up-skilled footballers on the coach on the way home!
