Hanban teachers visit

Hanban Teachers Visit SJH

Following on from our international links with both South Africa and Zimbabwe, the College have embarked on a new project with teachers from Hanban in China, to deliver workshops across the College. Throughout January, Miss Wilkes’ GCSE art class will benefit from calligraphy workshops as part of their current project on lettering. Zhang Xue will be taking groups of students through the history and origins of calligraphy as well as giving them workshops in using the lettering.

The students work will be on display across the College to show examples of the various styles of writing they have been learning about. This is only the first part of the project with the Hanban teachers and over the forthcoming weeks other projects will include a philosophy and ethics ‘tea ceremony’ and ‘traditional sports’ with intervention students.
