Heart DissectionMrs Skelton and Miss Warring’s Year 9 GCSE PE group dissected pig hearts as part of their GCSE PE theory lesson. Within the new specification content they have to learn about the structures, including the atria, ventricles, arteries, veins and capillaries.
The students all behaved fantastically using the scalpels, forceps, needle and scissors really sensitively and accurately. Students were able to follow the dissection on the big screen, through the use of the science department’s camera and computer programme.
The lesson was led by Mrs Heard who organised and taught a fantastic session, which the students all gained a lot from. Thank you to Mrs Heard for this opportunity and to Mr Waite for setting up the camera!
