Outdoor and Adventurous ActivitiesThe Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award participants completed their assessment expedition on a beautiful weekend in South-East Cornwall. They caught the ferry over early on Saturday morning and eventually got dropped off at the start by Rame Head. They then walked speedily to Sconner Down campsite, with no real problems other than the hot weather.
Their aim was to document 100 different species on the way showing the biodiversity of the area. By the time they finished the expedition the next day they had well over 100 photographs. Mrs Stanton met them at the end and rewarded them all with a very well deserved ice cream! The team had few disagreements and worked brilliantly together.
After some discussion they decided it wasn’t as hard as they expected and really enjoyed it (apart from steep hills and blisters) and would like to complete their Silver Award next.
