Sixth Form Theatre Visit

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

The Sixth Form students took a trip to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Theatre Royal last week. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the musical, which is a tale of good versus evil centering around the famous car, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Starring Lee Mead as inventor Potts and Michelle Collins and Shaun Williamson as the barmy ‘Vulgarian’ child hating aristocrats, it was a delight from start to finish. Carrie Hope Fletcher as Potts’ love interest, Truly Scrumptious is a real talent and no doubt will continue to flourish. The chilling childcatcher, Matt Gillett produced a character only usually seen in nightmare; his menacing demeanour scared not only the children but the adults too! The star of this show though, is the car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A sprinkle of theatre wizardry makes it fly and it looks spectacular.

Seb Berry from Year 13 commented:

"I loved the over-the-top nature of the show. My favourite performance was from the baroness, who consistently provided humour throughout the musical."

We are glad to be offering more theatre trips to the students and hope to have many more to come!
